Team Interview: Ebony

  1. Where do you consider home (e.g. where are you from)?

    I’m a (South) Jersey girl

  2. Why did you join STEMulation?

    At the surface level, I was bored during the pandemic and needed something new. At my core, I wanted to join a cause that would revolutionize the way we look at STEM education by integrating it with entertainment and social justice. Plus my bestie is the founder and she asked me to come on board.

  3. What was your favorite part of helping to create SpaceBox?

    I really enjoy our team meetings. We have a good time.

  4. What is an experience (or 2) that helped you discover/ cultivate your interest in STEM and/or education?

    I watched the show House religiously as a kid. I loved seeing them solve the medical mysteries. It definitely sparked my interest in science.

  5. How do you think STEM education can be more inclusive?

    Eat the rich and distribute the wealth.

  6. What is a random STEM fact that you love?

    Scientists just learned how anesthesia works

  7. What was your favorite game to play growing up (e.g. video game, board game)?

    I loved playing Zelda, Tony Hawk Skateboarding, and Super Mario on my Nintendo 64 when I was a kid. I am now notorious for not liking any games but Uno.

  8. What is your favorite science fiction movie or tv show? 

    I can’t choose an all-time favorite but Star Trek: Discovery is a current fave. 

  9. What book are you reading right now?

    Radical Dharma: Talking Race, Love, and Liberation by Rev. angel Kyodo williams, Lama Rod Owens, & Jasmine Syedullah

  10. What are some words of wisdom that you live by?

    "Being overworked, exhausted, and busy should not be worn as a badge of pride. Rest is integral to your own political and creative freedom"
